How does an MBA make someone a better manager but at the expense of becoming a less nice person?

"“After mine, my family commented that I’d got a lot better at playing Monopoly. The research on this is quite clear: doing an MBA diminishes your morality. In particular, exposure to academic economics makes you more likely to free-ride, less likely to co-operate with others, more likely to defect, and more cynical. Those who have studied economics are less likely to donate to charities and less generous when they do; they are also less honest and more corruptible (see research summaries in Frank et al and Etzioni). My take on this is less about economics and more about utilitarianism, and I think it would be fixable if all MBA students had to learn virtue ethics.”"
